Our clients typically include;

Small businesses

We understand the challenges faced by small businesses from start-up to an established and growing company.

One of the big advantages of being a small business is the ability to take action and pivot quickly should there be a requirement to do so. However many small business owners can often get so bogged down and overwhelmed by the day-to-day requirements of staying on top of their accounts and finances that they miss out on important opportunities for business improvement and growth.

As specialist small business accountants, we have seen the many great benefits our small business clients have achieved from outsourcing aspects of their accounting function to us. They achieve more time to focus on growing their business and tending to their customers, as well as the peace of mind from having an accounting partner they can rely on.

We can tailor a package to suit your small business depending on your needs;

  • Starting out we could put together a package consisting of bookkeeping and VAT, annual accounts, and directors tax returns.
  • As you take on more employees you may wish to outsource your payroll to us to free up more time.
  • If you are planning for growth and expansion you will benefit greatly from our management accounts packages and outsourced financial controller service.

Whichever services or package you select our objective is to;

  • Greatly reduce the time you spend on paperwork and non-revenue generating activities within your business,
  • To ensure your business is as profitable as possible by limiting your tax liabilities and identifying opportunities to improve cash flow and business efficiencies,
  • Get to know your business and industry in depth so that we can best help you achieve your goals and to steer you towards growth, and,
  • To support you and your business however we can.

Sole Trader

There are many advantages to being a sole trader;

  • You can make decisions quickly
  • You will be the sole benefactor of any profits made in the business
  • If you are very motivated then you can strongly impact business success

On the flip side, as a sole trader or self-employed business person, all the responsibilities of running the business fall on your shoulders. If your business suffers losses you are solely responsible.

As a sole trader you must comply with the following regulatory requirements;

  • You will need to submit Self Assessment Tax Returns with the Revenue Commissioners on an annual basis.
  • You may or may not be required to register for VAT, depending on your income levels.

Startups

Should you set up as a sole trader or limited company?

We will help you decide which option is best for you and your circumstances. If you decide to set up a limited company we can take care of the company formation process on your behalf.

Should you register for VAT?

You may not need to register for VAT immediately but as your business grows you will need to start paying VAT on goods and services sold. We can set you up online and even act as your agents with the Revenue Commissioners for you.

As a startup business, we can also help you explore if there are any grants and government supports available for your business model and industry.

If required we can assist you with completing a grant or funding application and/or business plan.
